  • CHRIST IS RISEN! INDEED HE IS RISEN! – Resurrection of Christ celebrated at the Nativity of the Lord Cathedral in Chisinau

CHRIST IS RISEN – INDEED HE IS RISEN! – this greeting resounds today in the Orthodox world. It was heard today also in the Metropolitan Cathedral in Chisinau, where the Paschal Divine Service was officiated by His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and Moldova.

The arch-pastor was assisted at the Service by the metropolitan secretary, archpriest Vadim Cheibas and the Cathedral clergy.

Liturgical responses were provided at the Divine Service by the Cathedral’s choir conducted by Angela Angheni and the choir “Romana” conducted by Natalia Brasoveanu.

Praying in the middle of Orthodox Christians at the Cathedral was President Igor Dodon and family, as well as numerous state officials.

During the Divine Service, Metropolitan Vladimir’s Paschal Message was read out.

After the Paschal Gospel reading resounded in Romanian, it was read out by Metropolitan Vladimir in Latin, and by the clergy in Church Slavonic, French, English, Portuguese, and Greek.

The Divine Liturgy finished with the traditional Paschal Greeting and blessing of the offerings brought by the church-goers.

The presence of great multitudes of Christians at the Paschal service is indicative of the fact that our people is united in the Church and our ancestral faith.

The Paschal Divine Service was live broadcast by the National Television and Radio with comments provided by the journalist Iulian Proca.
