Sunday, 11 February 2018, with the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and All Moldova, the Orthodox Youth Festival was inaugurated with the Divine Liturgy celebrated in the Chapel of Moldova State University.
The event is organized for the second time, and is planned to be held every Sunday before the Feast of the Meeting of the Lord.
Thus, over 300 young people from educational institutions across the country gathered in the Meeting of the Lord Chapel at Moldova State University, to participate in the Divine Liturgy celebrated by His Grace Ioan, Vicar of the Metropolis and Bishop of Soroca. The arch-pastor was assisted during the Service by numerous priests and deacons.
After the Divine Liturgy, the participants divided in groups facilitated by volunteers, and visited the Metropolitan Cathedral and several museums in Chisinau.
The festivities continued in the Organ Hall of Chisinau, where numerous religious organizations interpreted spiritual music within an exceptional concert.
The Festival of Orthodox Youth is organized yearly, and is a missionary activity of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, aimed at involving youth in educational and charity activity within the Church, encouraging the dialogue between young people across the country.
