On Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at the Metropolitan Residence in Chisinau, the work of the Synod of the Orthodox Church of Moldova took place.
The session of the Synod began with the blessing of His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chisinau and all Moldova.
The diocesan hierarchs and vicars of the Orthodox Church of Moldova participated as members of the Synod: Archbishop Sava of Tiraspol and Dubasari, Archbishop Anatoly of Cahul and Comrat, Archbishop Petru of Ungheni and Nisporeni, Archbishop Marchel of Balti and Falesti, Archbishop Nicodim of Edinet and Briceni, and the Metropolitan Vicar Bishops: HE Ioan, Bishop of Soroca, HE Siluan, Bishop of Orhei, HE Filaret, Bishop of Căpriana, HE Nicolae, Bishop of Ceadîr-Lunga, Vicar of the Diocese of Cahul and Comrat, HE Patrocl, Bishop of Dondușeni, Vicar of the Diocese of Edineț and Briceni and Protopriest Vadim Cheibaș, Secretary of the Synod of the Orthodox Church of Moldova.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chișinău and all Moldova, decorated His Grace Ioan, Bishop of Sorocii, with the order of “Saint Hierarch Petru Movilă”, II degree, on the occasion of his 45th anniversary.
During the meeting, issues related to church life were discussed.
