  • The Fourth Sunday after Holy Pascha: Metropolitan Vladimir celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Central Cathedral in Chisinau

Sunday, 15 May 2022, (of the Healing of the Paralytic at Bethesda) His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chisinau and all Moldova, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Nativity of the Lord Cathedral in Chisinau.

The hierarch was assisted at the service by archpriest Vadim Cheibas, Cathedral Dean and Metropolitan Secretary, archpriest Ioan Gherbovetchi, Dean of Portuguese Parishes of Corsun Diocese, and the Cathedral clergy.

We learn from the Sunday Gospel Reading (John 5: 1-15) about the healing of a Paralyzed Man at the pool of Bethesda. The man was patiently hoping for a miracle to happen, hoping that someone would show mercy on him and place him into the water when the angel would come to stir the water in the pool. We can also see that everybody was busy with their own sorrow and concern, rushing into the water and trying to get the first into the pool in order to receive the healing of their diseases. In our life, we are also very often so busy with our own needs, that we hardly look around to see other people in need. Seeing this, Lord Jesus Christ healed the man, advising him not to sin any more.

During the Divine Service, Metropolitan Vladimir officiated diaconal ordination of Mihail Rotaru, Zabriceni Seminary Graduate. The clergyman was appointed to the Synaxis of the Apostles Parish in Chisinau.

Thanks-giving Litany was officiated after the Liturgy expressing gratefulness to God for all mercy and blessings.
