Friday, 8 November 2019, on the Feast of Holy Great-Martyr Demetrius the Myrrh-Streamer, Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and all Moldova celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Monastery of St. Demetrius in Ceadir-Lunga, Gagauz autonomy.
Concelebrating to the metropolitan was Bishop Anatolie of Cahul and Comrat. The hierarchs were assisted at the service by archimandrite Paisie (Cecan), monk superior of New Neamt Monastery, archpriest Petru Cheles, dean of Ceadir-Lunga church circumscription, and numerous clerics from Cahul and Comrat diocese.
Numerous church-goers arrived to share the spiritual joy of the feast.
During the service, Metropolitan Vladimir decorated the superior of the monastery, Nun Elisaveta, with the church order of Blessed Agafia of Cuselauca, for outstanding efforts and contribution to the revival of monastic life in this settlement.
After the Divine Liturgy the praying community followed the hierarchs in a Cross Procession around the church, and Metropolitan Vladimir addressed a message of arch-pastoral guidance and congratulated the community on their Patron Feast.
The church-goers were offered spiritual gifts in the memory of the day: books of New Testament, prayer books, and icons.
The celebration finished with an agape dinner offered by the nuns of the monastery.
