  • The Feast of Venerable Paraskeva celebrated at the Metropolitan Cathedral

    Tuesday, 27 October 2020, on the Feast of Venerable Paraskeva, the first hierarch of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, Metropolitan Vladimir, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Nativity of the Lord Metropolitan Cathedral in Chisinau.

    During the Small Entrance, the arch-pastor awarded a series of church distinctions to priests from Chisinau:

    • Archpriest Teodor Tihon, the confessor of Chisinau 1st Circumscription, decorated with the Order of Church Merit, 3rd Category;
    • Archpriest Andrei Burlescu, rector of Seraphim of Sarov Parish, decorated with the Order of Holy Hierarch Gavriil Banulescu-Bodoni, 3rd Category;
    • Priest Iulian Panas, rector of the Holy Trinity Church, decorated with the right of wearing Kamilafkion.

    During the Liturgy, Metropolitan Vladimir officiated diaconal ordination of Daniel Tambur, Chisinau Theological Academy student, for the Protection of the Theotokos Church in Dorotcaia community, Dubasari district.

    With the blessing of the hierarch, archpriest Vadim Cheibas, the Cathedral Dean, delivered a message of pastoral guidance, speaking about the significance of the feast and about the life of Venerable Paraskeva, “a model of Christian life in an increasingly desacralized society”.

    In the end, Metropolitan Vladimir blessed the liturgical community and congratulated the church-going on the Feast, wishing to all spiritual growth.
