  • The Church of the Nativity of St. John the Baptizer celebrated 10th anniversary of inauguration

    24th November 2019, the 23rd Sunday after Pentecost, the parishioners of the Nativity of St. John the Baptizer Church in Chisinau greeted with utmost joy and spiritual love the arch-pastor of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, who conducted the celebration of the Divine Liturgy marking the 10th anniversary of the parish church inauguration.

    Praying with the metropolitan were archpriest Vadim Cheibas, the metropolitan secretary, archpriest Zosima Toia, Dean of the Third Church Circumscription of Chisinau, archpriest Ioan Plamadeala, the parish rector, and numerous other clerics.

    During the Divine Liturgy, the entire community uttered thanks-giving prayers to God, thanking the Creator for reaching this sublime moment.

    During the Small Entrance, the parish rector, Fr. Ioan Plamadeala was awarded the Order of Gratefulness in sign appreciation of fruitful pastoral activity for the glory of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, and for the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Nativity of St. John the Baptizer Parish.

    Metropolitan Vladimir officiated the diaconal ordination of Iulian Panas, graduate of the Theological Academy of Chisinau, promotion of the year 2016. The young cleric was appointed to church ministry in Chisinau parish of Holy Trinity.

    After the service, Metropolitan Vladimir addressed a warm message of greeting to the parish rector and parishioners, underlining father Ioan’s pastoral and missionary merits. The metropolitan expressed hope that father Ioan would further make fruitful efforts and be a worthy example for those who want to serve God in priesthood.
