Metropolis of Chisinau and all Moldova, and the Ministry of Defense signed a joint action plan for the promotion of spiritual education and religious assistance within the National Army for the year 2021.
The document was signed by His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and all Moldova, and Minister of Defense, General Victor Gaiciuc.
Participants on behalf of the Metropolis of Moldova included Archimandrite Nicolae (Rosca), Chairman of the Sector of Pastoral Activity within the MIA, MD, and Law Enforcement Structures, as well as Chairmen of Diocesan Sectors and chaplains from other dioceses.
The actions plan provides joint actions, including sessions of moral and spiritual assistance with the military, divine service in units, demonstration of documentaries and artistic films to the soldiers on the eve of religious holidays, blessing of the military setting off to peacekeeping missions, and organization of pilgrimages to holy sites.
Minister Victor Gaiciuc mentioned during the event that religious assistance within the National Army contributes to the patriotic education of all categories of military. “I want to assure you that this plan will be successfully implemented in all units of the National Army, with the support of military priests. I am also fully confident that the collaboration between the Ministry of Defense and Metropolis of Moldova will be very fruitful, especially with the participation of the recently created Department of Civic Education and Social Protection”, – mentioned General Gaiciuc.
Metropolitan Vladimir thanked the defense officials for cooperation and openness in the promotion of moral and spiritual values among the military.
The agreement institutionalizes long collaboration, and is a logical continuation of a series of joint projects between the Ministry of Defense and Metropolis of Moldova, representing a guarantee of further prodigious cooperation.
