On the Second Sunday of Great Lent, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Metropolitan Cathedral of Nativity of the Lord.
At the service, the clergy and the lay believers gave glory to the Lord who was crucified and rose for our salvation, sharing the spiritual joy of this soul-edifying period of ascetic doing and awaiting the Holy Pascha, hoping with humility and praying hearts to gain heavenly goodness and salvation of the souls.
Having strengthened in prayer and upon receiving spiritual food, the church-goers listened to an inspiring sermon about the need of prayer and Christian behaviour appropriate to the Lenten period.
The parishioners were inspired to pray, to give alms, and grow up spiritually in the light of the Truth of Orthodoxy, applying it in their own lives.
In the end all the people present at the service received archpastoral blessing, and then everybody went home to share the spiritual peace and joy of the service with all those around them.
