  • The arch-pastors of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, in the Eucharistic Communion on the Feast of the Synaxis of the Theotokos

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men (Luke 2: 14).

The day after the Nativity of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is dedicated in the Orthodox Church to the Synaxis of Most Holy Mother of God and Ever Virgin Mary. Traditionally, the bishops of the Orthodox Church of Moldova reunite in Communion on this day in the Nativity of the Lord Cathedral, to share the joy of the Feast.

Thus, on Thursday, 8 January 2020, Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and all Moldova, assisted by the synaxis of arch-pastors of the Moldovan Church: Archbishop Sava of Tiraspol and Dubasari, Bishop Anatolie of Cahul and Comrat, Bishop Petru of Ungheni and Nisporeni, Bishop Markel of Balti and Falesti, Bishop Nicodim of Briceni and Edinet, and Vicar Bishops of the Metropolis of Moldova, His Grace Ioan of Soroca and His Grace Siluan of Orhei, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Nativity of the Lord Cathedral in Chisinau.

After the service, Archbishop Sava of Tiraspol and Dubasari addressed a message of congratulation on the Nativity of the Lord to Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and Moldova, on behalf of the episcopate of the Orthodox Church of Moldova. His Eminence Sava wished to the metropolitan long live, under the omophorion of the Theotokos and protection of God, spare from dangers and temptations, as well as steadiness at the helm of the Orthodox Church of Moldova.

The Cathedral Choir pleased the ears of the arch-pastors and the entire liturgical community, with inspiring Christmas carols, glorifying the Nativity of Christ.
