20 May, 2018, during arch-pastoral visit to the Diocese of Ungheni and Nisporeni, Metropolitan Vladimir visited Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel Parish in Lapusna, Hincesti, in the second half of the day.
Arrived in the parish, Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and all Moldova and diocesan Bishop Petru of Ungheni and Nisporeni were welcomed by the parish rector, archpriest Serghei Slanina, and the parishioners.
Father Serghei familiarized the high guests with the progress of renovation works in the church interior.
The Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel Church in Lapusna was attested centuries ago, while the existing ecclesiastical building was edified in 1819, on the foundation of much older church, built in the times of medieval Moldovan princes.
The parish was pastored by worthy priests since its foundation, one of the most notable recent rectors being father Gheorghe Chirita, who had a long and very difficult office amid the faithful flock in Lapusna between 1961 and 2013.
The church has been under capital renovation in recent years. People of good will, many of whom were born in Lapusna community and scattered over the world in time, contributed to the external reconstruction of the church. Considerable efforts are dedicated to the church internal renovation currently.
