  • The Anesthesia and Intensive Care Unit (ATI) of the Emergency Hospital in Chisinau was consecrated after capital repairs

On Saturday, June 8, 2024, the Anesthesia and Intensive Care Unit (ATI) of the Institute of Emergency Medicine in Chisinau (Emergency Hospital) was consecrated after a capital repair.

The blessing and consecration service was officiated by Protopriest Mihail Bortă, parish priest of the church dedicated to St. Hierarch Spiridon of Trimithund, missionary priest of the Emergency Hospital, protopriest Marin Cij, Chairman of the Synodal Sector for Spiritual Activity in Medical Institutions, missionary priest of the Hospital no. 2, “St. Archangel Mihael” in Chisinau, and Fr. Aureliu Iațco, minister of St. Michael church from Chisinau.

Closing the event, prot. Marin Cij, Chairman of the Synodal Sector of Spiritual Activity in Medical Institutions, congratulated the medical staff, thanking them for all the work they do every day with professionalism and devotion, stressing the importance of cooperation between the Church and the hospital for the benefit of patients.

The priest of the Emergency Hospital, Prot. Mihail Bortă, addressed a spiritual word to all those who have contributed to the renovation of this important hospital building.

Dear doctors and nurses, may the Good Lord help you so that your skills and hands may always be up to the expectations of the sick and suffering, so that life – God’s gift – may always triumph.

Father Mihail gave to the ICU a silver-plated icon of St. Hierarch Spiridon of Trimithund, the patron saint of the Emergency Hospital, and a book on the life and work of St. Luke of the Crimea “VOINO – IASENEȚKI Archbishop and Surgeon: Life and Hagiography”, as a sign of spiritual comfort to the medical staff and patients who will be treated in this section.

At the end of the event, Mr. Sergiu Cobitschi, head of the Anesthesia and Intensive Care Unit, said: I feel joy because what was proposed has been achieved in our unit. In today’s world in general, and in our society in particular, there is a lot of suffering. Medical science has advanced, but also the number of new diseases has increased. In this regard, we thank the servants of God for coming to our aid every time, when our strength dries up and we seek hope only from God, the Creator.
