  • The 20th Sunday after Pentecost, at the Nativity of the Lord Cathedral in Chisinau

On the 20th Sunday after Pentecost, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Nativity of the Lord Metropolitan Cathedral.

Praying at the service together with the arch-pastor of the Moldovan Orthodox Church and the God-loving community were archpriest Vadim Cheibas, Metropolitan Secretary and Cathedral Dean, and numerous priests and deacons.

During the Divine Service, the Metropolitan and the liturgical community prayed for the Lord’s protection and the saints’ intercession on the way of salvation and life eternal.

Metropolitan Vladimir ordained Laurentiu Ionasca, graduate of Chisinau Theological Academy, into the dignity of deaconate, and appointed him to St. George Monastery in Suruceni, Ialoveni district. The metropolitan congratulated the young deacon on this important event, wishing him to be a worthy servant of the Holy Altar.

With the blessing of the metropolitan, archpriest Vadim Cheibas addressed to the praying community with a message of spiritual guidance on the Sunday’s Gospel Reading. Fr. Vadim underlined that the miracle of resurrection of the son of a widow in Nain came out of the Lord’s mercy for the bereaving mother, but also as an inspiration of our faith in the general resurrection of the dead.

After the Holy Communion, Thanks-Giving prayers were uttered, and the praying community was dismissed, to bear Christ’s peace in their hearts and bring it to the entire world.
