3 January 2021, on the Sunday before the Nativity of the Lord, Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and all Moldova celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Nativity of the Lord Metropolitan Cathedral.
Archpriest Vadim Cheibas, Cathedral Dean and Metropolitan Secretary, assisted the arch-pastor in the Divine Service. The metropolitan prayed together with the clergy of the holy shrine and numerous church-goers who participated in the Holy Communion service.
This Sunday is the Forefeast of the Nativity of the Lord and marks the closing period of the Advent. The Scripture Readings used in the Divine Liturgy remind the people about the holy and ascetic life of those who lived in the expectation of the Messiah.
Numerous Christians participating in the Divine Liturgy show that we are all part of the Universal Church of Christ, and that in our Lord Jesus Christ we are united with all generations of God-faithful people.
Delivering a message of pastoral guidance to the liturgical community, on behalf of the Metropolitan, archpriest Vadim Cheibas called the church-goers to spend the remaining days of the Advent in fast and prayer, contemplating on the spiritual significance of these days in the expectation of the Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ.
