5th January 2010, Sunday before the Nativity of the Lord, commemorates the Hoy Fathers and the Forefeast of the Nativity of the Lord.
Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and all Moldova celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Nativity of the Lord Cathedral in Chisinau.
Praying with the arch-pastor at the Liturgy were archpriest Vadim Cheibas, the Dean of the Cathedral and Metropolitan Secretary, and the clergy of the holy shrine. Big numbers of church-goers shared the spiritual joy of the day, expressing unity in prayer and piety.
The Confessor of the Cathedral, father Teodor Tihon, delivered the message of arch-pastoral guidance, with the blessing of Metropolitan Vladimir. Father Teodor spoke about the significance of the day, mentioning that these are the last days of the Advent of the Nativity of the Lord, when church-goers experience moments of spiritual responsibility and sobriety in fast and prayer.
