Sunday, 9 January 2022, on the commemoration of First Martyr Archdeacon Stephan, Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and all Moldova officiated the Divine Liturgy in the central Cathedral.
Archpriest Vadim Cheibas, Metropolitan Secretary and Dean of the Cathedral, together with numerous clergymen, assisted the arch-pastor during the service.
Numerous churchgoers joined the Liturgical community in the Metropolitan Cathedral.
During the Liturgy, Metropolitan Vladimir ordained hierodeacon Adrian Teodorescu into priesthood, with appointment to the Holy Trinity Monastery in Saharna (Rezina region), and subdeacon Valeriu Gnaciuc into dignity of deacon, with appointment to the parish of All Saints who shone in Romanian lands, in Botanica sector of Chisinau.
The Gospel Reading of the day related the story of escaping of the Holy Family to Egypt.
With the blessing of the arch-pastor, father Vadim Cheibas addressed a message of pastoral guidance after the Liturgy, speaking about the significance of the escape to Egypt and returning to the Holy Land with settlement in Betlehem.
