  • St. Spyridon of Tremithus celebrated at the Nativity of the Lord Metropolitan Cathedral

Wounded by the love of Christ, / all-holy one, your mind was given wings through the light of the Spirit, / you found work in active contemplation, God-pleasing Spyridon, / becoming a divine sacrifice, / and imploring divine illumination for all. (Kontakion of St. Spyridon, Tone 2)

On the Feast of St. Spyridon the Wonderworker and Bishop of Tremithus, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and All Moldova celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Nativity of the Lord Metropolitan Cathedral.

The metropolitan was assisted at the Divine Service by Archpriest Vadim Cheibas and the cathedral clergy.

In spiritual unity, the entire praying community praised the Lord and addressed prayers to St. Spyridon, asking for spiritual guidance and intercession.

St. Spyridon the Wonderworker was born around the year 270, in Askia, Cyprus, and lived till the half lf the fourth century, being contemporary of Emperor Constantine the Great. St. Spyridon participated at the First Oecumenical Council of Nycea in 325.

During the Divine Service the church-goers prayed to St. Spyridon the Wonderworker, who is much venerated by the Orthodox world due to his holy life and miracles experienced and known by all those who pray to this saint with faith and hope for heavenly intercession.
