St. George Orthodox community in Chisinau celebrated its 200th anniversary on the 4th Sunday after Holy Pascha.
The festivities started early Sunday morning, with the Divine Liturgy celebrated by His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and all Moldova. Concelebrating to the arch-pastor were Archbishop Sava of Tiraspol and Dubasari, and Bishop Ioan of Soroca, Metropolitan Vicar.
Numerous priests and deacons assisted the hierarchs during the Divine Service: archpriest Vadim Cheibas, Metropolitan secretary, Archimandrite Nicolae Rosca, administrator and confessor of St. Theodore of Tyre monastery, and the clergy of St. George church.
Metropolitan Vladimir addressed a pastoral message to the liturgical community after the Divine Liturgy, speaking about the intensity of Christian living in the ascension to the Heavenly Kingdom. The archpastor congratulated the parishioners on their anniversary, underlining the role of the clergy and prominent parish members throughout history.
The metropolitan thanked the concelebrating clergy for sharing the prayers during the Divine Service, wishing them to be consistent in their devotion to the pastoral mission.
