Monday, 20 September 2021, Session of the Synod of the Orthodox Church of Moldova was held at the Metropolitan Residence in Chisinau.
His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chisinau and all Moldova, chaired the session.
Permanent members of the Synod are diocesan and vicar hierarchs of the Orthodox Church of Moldova: His Eminence Sava, Archbishop of Tiraspol and Dubasari, His Eminence Anatolie, Archbishop of Cahul and Comrat, His Eminence Petru, Archbishop of Ungheni and Nisporeni, His Eminence Nicodim, Archbishop of Edinet and Briceni, His Grace Ioan, Bishop of Soroca and Metropolitan Vicar, His Grace Siluan, Bishop of Orhei and Metropolitan Vicar, and Archpriest Vadim Cheibas, Secretary of the Synod of the Orthodox Church of Moldova.
After the inauguration of the session, Metropolitan Vladimir congratulated Archbishop Petru of Ungheni and Nisporeni and Archbishop Nicodim of Edinet and Briceni on anniversary, awarding to Their Eminences the First Degree Order of Holy Hierarch Gavriil.
A series of decisions were made on the organization of monastic life, establishment of new monastic communities, and appointment of their superior monastics.
Archpriest Victor Mihalas, cleric of Chisinau Diocese, was appointed member of the Supreme Court of the Orthodox Church of Moldova.
Other decisions were made in the area of spiritual education and partnerships with educational institutions, including Moldova State University.
