Tuesday, 20 December 2022, this year’s last session of the Holy Synod of the Orthodox Church of Moldova was held at the Metropolitan Residence.
Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and all Moldova presided the Synod Session.
Diocesan and Vicar Hierarchs participated as permanent members of the Synod: His Eminence Sava, Archbishop of Tiraspol and Dubasari, His Eminence Anatolie, Archbishop of Cahul and Comrat, His Eminence Petru, Archbishop of Ungheni and Nisporeni, His Eminence Marchel, Archbishop of Balti and Falesti, His Eminence Nicodim, Archbishop of Edinet and Briceni, His Grace Ioan, Bishop of Soroca and Metropolitan Vicar, His Grace Siluan, Bishop of Orhei and Metropolitan Vicar, and Archpriest Vadim Cheibas, Secretary of the Synod of the Orthodox Church of Moldova.
During the session, Mr. Ion Gumenii, University Professor, PhD in History, Moldova State University, presented the book LIFE AND WRITINGS OF PAISY VELICHKOVSKI, according to the manuscripts of Archimandrite Andronic Popovici. For assiduous work and input in the study of the life of Saint Paisios, Metropolitan Vladimir awarded Mr. Ion Gumenii with the Second Category Order of Reverend Paisy Velichkovski.
The members of the Synod outlined the results of the passing year and adopted a series of decisions related to ecclesiastic life.
