Ordinary meeting of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church, chaired by Patriarch Kirill, was held on 4th October at the Patriarchal and Synod residence in the Saint Daniel Monastery.
Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and All Moldova was present at the meeting, as permanent member of the Holy Synod.
“We have a very tight agenda. We must analyse a whole set of questions dealing with the life of the Russian Orthodox Church and the reorganization of certain dioceses. We need to think, what actions need to be made to make the ecclesiastic life more active and respond to the requirements of the Arch-pastoral Synod in a range of regions”, – mentioned His Holiness Patriarch Kirill at the opening remarks.
The Patriarch said that reports of all synod institutions had been prepared for this meeting. “We need to give appreciation to all synod institutions and set the perspectives of further actions”, mentioned the First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Among the issues discussed, the members of the Synod analysed candidacies for arch-pastoral ordainment, and discussed aspects of external activity of Moscow Patriarchate.
