Metropolitan Vladimir celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Nativity of the Lord Cathedral in Chisinau on the 29th Sunday after Pentecost, assisted by archpriest Vadim Cheibas, Metropolitan Secretary and Cathedral Dean, and the clergy of the holy shrine.
Prayers and hymns were chanted, praising Lord Jesus Christ and the saints celebrated on 11/24th December: St. Daniel Stylite, St. Luke the new Stylite, St. Kuksha of Odessa, and other saints who pleased the Lord with their lives.
After the Liturgy, fr. Vadim Cheibas delivered message of spiritual guidance on the Sunday of the Forefathers of the Lord, explaining the Gospel Reading about those invited to the Lord’s Feast (Luke 14: 16-24). Fr. Vadim underlined that commemoration of the Lord’s Forefathers is significant due to the fact that all they lived in the awaiting of the Messiah, giving us an example of God-pleasing life in the awareness of the Lord’s Coming to restore the fallen humanity. In this light, the Lord’s Feast is prepared for all those who live righteous and God-pleasing life, but, although, many are invited, few will be selected.
