On the 27th Sunday after the Pentecost His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir celebrated Divine Liturgy in the Holy Great-Martyr Theodore of Tyre Monastery (also known as Ciuflea Monastery, Chisinau).
His Grace Bishop Anatoly of Cahul and Comrat concelebrated along with the Metropolitan, sharing the Eucharistic Communion.
The service began with the veneration of the Milk-Giver icon of the Theotokos, the icon of St. Nectarios of Pentapolis with particles of the Saint’s Holy Relics, and two icons of Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel, recently brought from Mount Athos for worship of Moldovan Orthodox Christians.
During the Service His Eminence prayed along with numerous church-goers present in the holy church, asking Lord to grant mercy to His faithful flock.
After the Liturgy the Metropolitan officiated 9-days Commemoration service in the memory of servant of God Nicolae, father of Archimandrite Nicolae (Rosca), the spiritual administrator of Ciuflea Monastery, and of the servant of God Valentina, mother of Protodeacon Boris Balan, cleric of Ciuflea Monastery.
His Eminence expressed condolences to the families of the reposed, calling the entire community of believers to pray for the repose and forgiveness of sins of the commemorated reposed servants of God Nicolae and Valentina.
“We hope that All-Merciful God, in His utmost wisdom, places his faithful servants with the Righteous ones, and helps us to preserve and take forward the light of saving faith”, mentioned the Hierarch.
