7 January 2022 (25 December in the Church Calendar), on the Feast of the Nativity of the Lord, Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and all Moldova officiated the Divine Liturgy in the central Cathedral.
Numerous clergymen and lay church-goers joined the hierarch during the Liturgy in the Metropolitan Cathedral.
During the Small Entrance, His Eminence Vladimir awarded a number of church distinctions on the occasion of the Great Feast:
- Deacon Mihail Crețu was promoted to the dignity of Protodeacon;
- Deacon Andrei Golovatâi was granted the right of wearing Kamilavkion;
- Deacon Eugeniu Vulturean was granted the right of wearing double horrarion.
After the Liturgy, Metropolitan Vladimir addressed a message of congratulation and arch-pastoral guidance to the churchgoers, speaking about the significance of the Nativity of the Lord and urging the audience to fully experience the grandeur and beauty of the event, in accordance with the teaching of the ancestral church.
Numerous children were offered sets with sweets, and adults received church calendars.
The Divine Liturgy on the Nativity of the Lord was live broadcast on the National TV and Radio, with liturgical commentaries provided by journalist Iulian Proca.
