  • “Mother of Life was born for the salvation of the entire world…”: Monastery of Curchi celebrated its Patron Feast of the Nativity of the Theotokos

Tuesday, 21 September 2021, on the Feast of the Nativity of our Most Holy Mother of God and Ever Virgin Mary, the Monastery of Curchi celebrated its Patron Feast in arch-pastoral liturgy.

“Today a new wold and Heaven of mystery rose, in which the New Adam recreated the old one, renewing the wold. The One who cannot be deceived, deceives the deceiver, and those enslaved to sin by his deception are granted liberation” (Holy Hierarch Gregory Palamas).

Every year on 8/21 September, when the Orthodox Church celebrates the Nativity of the Theotokos, the first Great Feast in the beginning of the new church year, the Monastery of Curchi is embellished in holiday clothes and unites in Holy Liturgy to celebrate its Patron Feast.

This year, the joy of the Feast was augmented by the Divine Service conducted by His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chsinau and all Moldova.

Concelebrating to Metropolitan Vladimir were His Eminence Nicodim, Archbishop of Edinet and Briceni, and His Grace Siluan, Bishop of Orhei and Metropolitan Vicar, the Superior Monk of the Monastery of Curchi. Numerous clergy assisted at the arch-pastoral service.

Praying with the community were Mr. Dinu Turcanu, the Head of Orhei Region, and other representatives of local public authorities, ctitors and decision-makers.

Thanks-giving litany was officiated at the end of the Divine Liturgy.

His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chisinau and all Moldova, addressed a message of congratulation and arch-pastoral guidance to the praying community. The hierarch mentioned about the importance of the Nativity of the Most Pure and Ever Virgin Mary in the work of the salvation of the humanity.

“The Feast of the Nativity of the Theotokos is a reason for utmost joy of all Christians. This Feast comes to fulfil the Law that speaks about Christ, and is the beginning of our salvation. We can say that this is not only the Nativity of Ever Virgin Mary, but also the rebirth of the entire world. This Feast is of outstanding importance for the Monastery of Curchi which is celebrating its Patron Feast. Thus, blessing His Grace Siluan, the Hegumen of this Monastery, we pray to All-Good God to cast heavenly blessings and abundant gifts on this monastic community, with the intermittence of the Mother of God”, said the Metropolitan Vladimir.
