The meeting of the superior monks and nuns of Chisinau Diocese was held today, 16 August, at the Metropolitan Residence.
His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chisinau and all Moldova, chaired the session.
Participating at the event were His Grace Ioan, Bishop of Soroca and Metropolitan Vicar – Chairman of the Synodal Sector of Institutional Communication and Mass-Media Relations, His Grace Siluan, Bishop of Orhei and Metropolitan Vicar – Chairman of the Synodal Sector of Monasteries and Monastic Life, Mitred Archpriest Vadim Cheibas, Metropolitan Secretary and Dean of the First Church Circumscription of Chisinau, District Deans of Chisinau Diocese, Mitred Archpriest Valeriu Potoroaca, Chairman of Metropolitan Court, and superior monastics of Chisinau Diocese.
Metropolitan Vladimir inaugurated the session, greeting the participants and making an overview of main events in the life of the Metropolis of Moldova since 1989.
Key events and challenges faced currently by the Church and the society, aspects of the presence and activity of the Church in the society and state institutions, were further discussed.
Closing the session, Metropolitan Vladimir thanked the monastics for the fruitful missionary and pastoral activity and devoted ministry in their monasteries. The hierarch offered to each participating cleric a Pectoral Cross embellished with jewels, containing anniversary inscription on the reverse side, and a volume entitled “Thoughts about Metropolitan Vladimir”, on His Eminence’s 70th anniversary.
