  • Metropolitan Vladimir officiated the sanctification of the Holy Table and celebrated the first Divine Liturgy in the Church of the Emergency Hospital

    Sunday, 22 December 2019, The first hierarch of the Orthodox Church of Moldova consecrated the Holy Table and celebrated the first Divine Liturgy in St. Spiridon Church of the Emergency Hospital in Chisinau.

    The parish rector, priest Mihail Borta, together with the parishioners, greeted Metropolitan Vladimir early morning, and then assisted at the service of consecration of the Holy Table and the newly-built church. Then His Eminence Vladimir conducted the celebration of the Divine Liturgy.

    The metropolitan was assisted at the service by priest Mihail Borta, the parish rector, and numerous priests and deacons.

    During the Small Entrance, Metropolitan Vladimir awarded to priest Mihail Borta the rank of archpriest and the right of celebrating the Divine Liturgy with the Holy Doors open till the Cherubim Hymn, in sign of high appreciation of Fr. Mihail’s pastoral mission for the creation of the parish community and the care for the edification of the church building.

    Participating in the service were numerous doctors and patients of the Emergency Hospital of Chisinau, together with the hospital director, Mr. Mihail Ciocanu.

    After the Divine Liturgy, Metropolitan Vladimir officiated a thanks-giving service, and then addressed a message of congratulation and thankfulness to the parish rector, the staff of the hospital, ctitors and benefactors of the parish.

    Mr. Mihail Ciocanu talked about the importance of a church edification in the premises of the hospital under his administration.

    “I am very glad to participate in such a bright event. By this we state a collaboration of human science with the Divine providence”, mentioned Mr. Ciocanu.

    For the memory of the service and inauguration events, over 150 church-goers received icons of St. Spiridon of Trimithund from Metropolitan Vladimir.
