10 November 2019, the 21st Sundy after Pentecost: Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and all Moldova celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Nativity of Christ Cathedral in Chisinau.
The arch-pastor was assisted at the service by archpriest Vadim Cheibas, Cathedral Dean and Metropolitan Secretary, archpriest Teodor Tihon, Confessor of the first church circumscription of Chisinau, and the synaxis of priests and deacons of the holy shrine.
Participating in the Eucharistic feast were numerous church-goers from Chisinau and suburbs.
The liturgical responses were provided by the Cathedral’s Choir directed by Angela Angheni.
With the blessing of the hierarch, Fr. Vadim Cheibas delivered the message of pastoral guidance on the Sunday Gospel Reading (Luke 8, 26-39), relating about the healing of a possessed man in the country of Gadarenes.
Father Vadim mentioned that the mentioned Gospel fragment speaks about two opposite reactions to the miraculous healing made by Christ: on one hand there is the healed man, sitting still at the legs of the Lord, listening to the words of wisdom, and, on the other hand, the multitudes of inhabitants of the country of Gadarenes, who ask the Lord to depart from them, being seized of great fear. The first wishes to stay with Christ all his life, the others want never to see Him again, fearing for a greater material loss.
