On the Second Sunday after the Pentecost, Metropolitan Vladimir celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the St. George church in Schio, Italy.
The pastoral and missionary visit of the archpastor of the Orthodox Church of Moldova to Italian diaspora parishes brought spiritual joy and strengthening to our lay Christians and clergy, united in the Divine Liturgy.
Present at the liturgical celebration were leaders of the Roman Catholic community in Schio and Consul of the Republic of Moldova in Padova, Mr. Oleg Nica.
In the pastoral guidance message, Metropolitan Vladimir mentioned: “Being here with you on this Sunday, the Second after the Pentecost, is outstanding joy to me. I am very happy to see that the church where you pray every Sunday and on holidays is replenished bright souls and faces. Maintain the relation with the ancient Church, take part regularly in divine services, seek to put into practice the words of the Gospel, in order to be able to gain happiness and salvation, both here, on earth, and in Heavens!”
The parish in Schio has been recently established by the missionary priest, Fr. Veniamin Onu, who has very proliferating mission in the Moldovan Diaspora in Italy.
In sign of high appreciation of archpriest Veniamin Onu’s activity, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir handed to him a precious spiritual gift – a pectoral cross with jewels.
Father Veniamin thanked the metropolitan for the archpastoral care shown to spiritual children in the Diaspora, and ensured His Eminence of further efforts in the service of the Orthodox Church.
