  • Metropolitan Vladimir hosted the visit of Ambassador of Bulgaria to Moldova, Mr. Evgueni Stoytchev

    Wednesday, 23rd October 2019, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir was visited at the Metropolitan Residence in Chisinau by Ambassador of the Bulgarian Republic, Mr. Evgueni Stoytchev.

    His Excelence was accompanied by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria and by PhD, Professor Victor Tvircun.

    During the discussion, Ambassador Stoytchev thanked Metropolitan Vladimir for the reception, mentioning that he is very glad to learn about the realities of our society and Church, and specifically underlining the metropolitan’s care for the orthodox communities of ethnic Bulgarians in the south of our country.

    The importance of positive relations between the Orthodox Church of Moldova and the Orthodox Church of Bulgaria were mentioned, while Metropolitan Vladimir appreciated the Ambassador’s vast experience and important contribution to the deepening of these relations.

    During the meeting, the hierarch offered several church distinctions to the guests: the II category Order of St. Petru Movila to Mr. Evgueni Stoytchev, III category Order of Blessed Parascheva to Mrs. Tanya Mihailova, and the anniversary Medal of 25 years of activity of Metropolitan Vladimir as Arch-pastor of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, to other guests.

    Finally, Mr. Ambassador offered to the Metropolitan of Moldova a guide of most representative places of Bulgaria, while Metropolitan Vladimir offered to each guest an album covering the activity within 25 years of archpastoral service called A life in the light of faith, signed by Mr. Victor Tvircun.
