  • Metropolitan Vladimir consecrated the church of the Protection of the Mother of God in Chisinau

    Thursday, 23 February 2023, Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and Moldova, officiated the consecration and celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Protection of the Mother of God church situated on the place of the former military chapel in Chisinau.

    In the morning, Metropolitan Vladimir was greeted and welcomed by the parish rector, archpriest Victor Luchin, the clergy, ctitors, and parishioners of the holy place. The arch-pastor officiated the consecration of the holy altar before the Divine Liturgy.

    During the service, Metropolitan Vladimir was assisted by archpriest Vadim Cheibas, Metropolitan Secretary, archpriest Zosima Toia, dean of Chisinau Sector 3 Church Circumscription, archpriest Victor Luchin, parish rector, and numerous other clerics.

    During the Small Entrance of the Liturgy, Metropolitan Vladimir awarded to archpriest Victor Luchin the right of wearing Mitra and distinguished him with the 3rd category Church Merit order, in sign of high appreciation of pastoral and administrative activity in the parish. Other clerics of the holy place also received arch-pastoral distinctions.

    After the Liturgy, the community joined the hierarch in a Cross-bearing procession, with hymns and Scripture readings.

    Thanks-giving litany was officiated at the end of the liturgical service, and the praying community uttered lauds in gratitude to the Life-giving Holy Trinity.

    Commemoration litany was officiated at the tombs of archpriest Emilian Navin and priest Hrisant Guzun, buried in the churchyard.

    Metropolitan Vladimir addressed a message of congratulation to the priests, ctitors, and parish members, presenting every person with icons, for the memory of the day.
