18 December 2022, on the 27th Sunday after the Pentecost, Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and all Moldova, officiated the Divine Liturgy in the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Nativity of the Lord.
Liturgical responses during the service were provided by the Cathedral Choir directed by Angela Angheni.
Archpriest Vadim Cheibas, Cathedral Dean and Metropolitan Secretary, assisted the metropolitan during the Liturgy, along with a group of Cathedral clergy.
The Sunday Gospel Reading (Luke, 17: 12-19) read out during the service refers to the healing of 10 lepers, and teaches about gratitude to God.
With the blessing of the hierarch, Fr. Vadim Cheibas explained the meaning of the Gospel reading. Thanking the Creator for all mercy cast upon us is essential part of a Christian’s life. We can thank God in prayer, but also expressing kindness and mercy to other people. It is important to remember that we all owe something to God, and kind attitude to others is part of this awareness and our gratefulness to the One who gives us everything.
Many church-goers present at the service communed together with the clergy participating in the Liturgy.
