Saturday, 21 September 2019 (8th September in the Church calendar), on the Feast of the Nativity of the Mother of God, Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and Moldova visited the parish of the Protection of the Theotokos in the village of Vertiujeni, Floresti region.
Arrived early morning, the hierarch was greeted by the parish rector, priest Valeriu Bumbac, and the parishioners.
Metropolitan Vladimir celebrated the Divine Liturgy, assisted by archpriest Vadim Cheibas, the metropolitan secretary, archpriest Ioan Zimbreanu, District Dean of Floresti church circumscription, father Valeriu Bumbac, and other priests and deacons arrived to share the liturgical joy.
During the Small Entrance, the metropolitan awarded the right to wear gold cross and Palitsa to priest Valeriu Bumbac, in sign of archpastoral appreciation of assiduous work and efforts for the renovation of the church building.
His Eminence Vladimir also rewarded the main ctitor of the parish, Mr. Ioan Scoarta, with the church order fo St. Gavriil Banulescu-Bodoni, expressing gratefulness for the support of renovation works and over 10 years’ contribution to the development of the parish.
After the Liturgy, Metropolitan Vladimir conducted the service of blessing of a memorial in the church courtyard.
The arch-pastor congratulated the parishioners and expressed appreciation of their support to father Valeriu in the prosperity of church life in the parish.
