Thursday, 26th October 2017, on the feast of the translation to Moscow of the Iveron Icon of our Most Holy Lady Theotokos (Panagia Portaitissa Icon), H.E. Metropolitan Vladimir celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Iveron Icon Skete in Comrat.
Concelebrating to the First Hierarch was Bishop Anatolie of Cahul and Comrat, and numerous priests from the Southern Diocese.
Praying among the liturgical community was Mrs. Irina Vlah, Governor of Gagauz Autonomy, representatives of public authorities, and numerous other church-goers.
The clergy and laity prayed at the Divine Service for the holy intercession of the Mother of God, our Lady Theotokos.
After the Liturgy, Metropolitan Vladimir congratulated the monastics and pilgrims on the Patron Feast of their holy settlement, mentioning that the Iveron Icon Skete is a recently founded hub of prayer and faith in the heart of Comrat town that gathers Christians and invokes the holy protection of the Mother of God on the entire humanity. Although the settlement is new, it has become a spiritual centre enlightening the hearts of believers with the true faith.
Bishop Anatolie of Cahul and Comrat thanked the metropolitan for the congratulation message and arch-pastoral care, underlining the liturgical joy of the feast dedicated to our Most Holy Lady Theotokos.
In the end, all lay Christians present at the service received prayer books, in the memory of this very special holiday.
