  • Metropolitan Vladimir and Vicar Bishops celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Metropolitan Cathedral in Chisinau on the day after Holy Resurrection

According to an established tradition, on the day after Holy Resurrection, Metropolitan Vladimir celebrates the Divine Liturgy in Chisinau Cathedral together with other arch-pastors of the Orthodox Church of Moldova.

Monday, 17 April 2023, numerous church-goers participated in the Divine Liturgy in the Nativity of the Lord Cathedral in Chisinau, officiated by Metropolitan Vladimir, the first hierarch of the Orthodox Church of Moldova.

Concelebrating to His Eminence Vladimir were vicar bishops of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, His Grace Ioan of Soroca, and His Grace Siluan of Orhei.

Archpriest Vadim Cheibas, Metropolitan Secretary and Cathedral Dean, archimandrite Filaret (Cuzmin), monastic superior of Capriana Monastery, and priests and deacons of the Cathedral assisted the arch-pastors during the Divine Service.

In an atmosphere and a joy worthy of the Feast, the Primate, the servers, and the parishioners proclaimed the Great News, that CHRIST IS RISEN, thanking God in a heartfelt way for having enabled His flock to spend the great and long awaited feast in peace and quiet.

The liturgical responses were offered by the mixed choir of the cathedral, conducted by Mrs Angela Angheni and the children’s choir conducted by the presbytera Teodora Burlac.

After the Divine Liturgy, a thanks-giving Te-Deum laudamus service followed, and towards the end, Metropolitan Vladimir congratulated all those present on the Feast of the Resurrection of Christ, noting the impressive number of faithful who, despite their physical fatigue, participated in the Mass on the night of the Resurrection.

On this day of great spiritual joy, Vicar Bishop Ioan of Soroca congratulated His Eminence Vladimir on behalf of the Synod of the Orthodox Church of Moldova. Archpriest Vadim Cheiba congratulated His Eminence on behalf of the priests and faithful of the Metropolitan Cathedral, thanking him for the care and blessings that His Eminence offers to Christians in our country and beyond.
