19 June 2022, on the First Sunday after the Pentecost (Of all Saints), His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chisinau and all Moldova, officiated the Divine Liturgy in the church of St. Sergius of Radonezh in the village of Lazo, Stefan Voda.
This year celebrates the 600th anniversary of the discovery of the holy relics of St. Sergius, the Patron of the parish created in a small village of Lazo, containing only about 30 houses. The parishioners welcomed Metropolitan Vladimir with utmost spiritual joy. The parish rector, archpriest Nicolai Florinsky, who is also rector of St. George Church in Chisinau, assisted the arch-pastor during the service.
After the Liturgy, the praying community followed Metropolitan Vladimir and the con-celebrating clergy during a Cross Procession, with Gospel Readings and hymns-singing.
Thanks-giving service was officiated, after which His Eminence congratulated the parishioners on this event, thanking them for joining in prayer. At the rector’s report, church sponsors received metropolitan rewards in sign of appreciation of their support.
Fr. Nicolai in his turn thanked the hierarch, on behalf of the parish, for sharing the spiritual joy with them.
In the memory of the feast, all those present received small gifts from the metropolitan – icons, prayer books, and church calendars.
