  • His Eminence Vladimir consecrated the church of Holy Great-Martyr Demetrius in Romanesti, Straseni.

    06 November 2022, on the 21st Sunday after Pentecost, Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and all Moldova consecrated the Church of Holy Great-Martyr Demetrius in the community of Romanesti, Straseni region.

    In the morning, archimandrite Filaret (Cuzmin), Monastic Superior of the Monastery of Capriana and Dean of Straseni region, together with archpriest Andrei Calfa with the family and parishioners, greeted the metropolitan and welcomed the arch-pastor to the church.

    The Holy Table in the church altar was consecrated before the Divine Liturgy.

    Metropolitan Vladimir prayed together with archimandrite Filaret (Cuzmin), archpriest Andrei Calfa, and numerous priests and deacons from the deanery.

    During the Small Entrance, the arch-pastor awarded to archpriest Andrei Calfa the right of wearing Mitra, in sign of high appreciation of missionary activity and care for the strengthening of the parish. Priest Marcel Zgureanu, rector of the Exaltation of the Lord Church in Draguseni, Straseni, received the right of wearing Palitsa and the Cross embellished with jewels, in the appreciation of pastoral ministry.

    After the Great Entrance, deacon Marcian Cocu was ordained priest, appointed to the Dormition of the Mother of God church in Susleni, Orhei.

    Thanks-Giving Te-Deum Laudamus service followed after the Liturgy, and a number of church sponsors and ctitors were distinguished with arch-pastoral awards in sign of gratefulness for the support of the parish. All parishioners participating in the service received small gifts from the hierarch – icons and prayer-books.
