On April 7, 2024, the Third Sunday of Great Lent, also known as the Sunday of the Holy Cross that coincided this year with the feast of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Virgin Mary, the Mother of God, His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chișinău and of all Moldova, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Nativity of the Lord Metropolitan Cathedral in Chișinău.
Upon his arrival in the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Moldova worshipped before the holy icon of the Mother of God from Harbovats – the Patroness of Moldova.
During the Holy Liturgy, Archimandrite Nicolae (Rosca) was ordained as bishop of Ceadir-Lunga, vicar of the Cahul and Comrat diocese.
Concelebrating to Metropolitan Vladimir were: His Eminence Vichentie, Metropolitan of Tashkent and Uzbekistan, Head of the Metropolitan District of Middle Asia, His Eminence Sava, Archbishop of Tiraspol and Dubasari, His Eminence Anatoly, Archbishop of Cahul and Comrat, His Eminence Petru, Archbishop of Ungheni and Nisporeni, His Eminence Marchel, Archbishop of Balti and Falesti, His Eminence Nicodim, Archbishop of Edinet and Briceni, Vicar Bishops: Bishop Ioan of Soroca, Bishop Siluan of Orhei, Bishop Filaret of Căpriana, abbots of monasteries, district deans and other clergy.
The liturgical responses were provided by the mixed choir of the Metropolitan Cathedral, conducted by Mrs. Angela Angheni.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Moldova gave a fatherly guidance to the newly ordained bishop.
