  • His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir officiated the sanctification of the Altar in Pantanassa church in Greblesti, Straseni

    Tuesday, 15 February 2022, on the Feast of the Meeting of the Lord, Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and all Moldova celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Holy Trinity church in Greblesti community, Straseni region.

    Thus, the arch-pastor was greeted in the morning by archimandrite Filaret (Cuzmin), superior monk of Capriana Monastery and Dean of Straseni church circumscription, archpriest Ioan Josan, parish rector, the priest’s the family, and parishioners.

    Metropolitan Vladimir then conducted the celebration of Divine Liturgy in Pantanassa shrine built in the underground level of the parish church.

    Archpriest Vadim Cheibas, Metropolitan Secretary, archimandrite Filaret (Cuzmin), archpriest Ioan Josan, and numerous clergy, assisted the arch-pastor during the Divine Liturgy.

    Liturgical responses during the service were provided by the choir of St. Demetrius-the-new parish directed by Sergiu Crudu.

    During the Small Entrance of the Liturgy, Metropolitan Vladimir awarded church distinctions to parish rector, Fr. Ioan Josan: the right of wearing Palitsa, Pectoral Cross with jewels, and Mitra, in sign of high appreciation of pastoral and administrative activity in the parish. Other priests from Straseni circumscriptions also received arch-pastor’s awards.

    During the Liturgy, subdeacon Pavel Gluh, 3rd year Theology student received diaconal ordination and was appointed to service in the Metropolitan Cathedral of Chisinau.

    With the involvement of the parish rector and the Synodal Sector for Social Activity and Charity of the Metropolis of Moldova, five socially vulnerable families from the parish were offered material support by Metropolitan Vladimir: clothes for adults and children, diapers, and food supplies.

    After the Liturgy, Metropolitan Vladimir blessed a set of 7 bells that will adorn the parish’s liturgical comples. The celebration ended with a Thanks-giving service, after which the arch-pastor awarded church distinctions to the parish benefactors.
