  • His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir officiated the sanctification and Divine Liturgy in the church of Reverend Demetrius the New in Chisinau


    On the 20th Sunday after Pentecost, 7 November 2021,  His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and all Moldova prayed together with the parishioners of the church of St. Demetrius the New in Chisinau, officiating the sanctification and celebrating the Divine Liturgy in the newly built holy shrine.

    Praying with the Metropolitan were Vicar Bishop Ioan of Soroca, Vicar Bishop Siluan of Orhei, Archpriest Vadim Cheibas, the parish rector, Archimandrite Filaret (Cuzmin), superior monk of Capriana Monastery, archpriest Anatolie Stefanov, Dean of Ialoveni church circumscription, archpriest Nicolae Cravet, Dean of Soroca church circumscription, and other priests and deacons.

    During the Small Entrance, Metropolitan Vladimir awarded the Fist Degree Order of Holy Hierarch Petru Movila to archpriest Vadim Cheibas, in sign of high appreciation of the efforts for the building of the church of Reverend Demetrius the New.

    During the Liturgy, deacon Ilie Munteanu, Student at the Academy of Orthodox Theology in Chisinau, was ordained priest for Sector 1 Church circumscription of Chisinau.

    A Cross Procession around the church building,with Gospel Readings and prayers, followed after the Liturgy.

    Thanks-giving Litany was uttered at the end of the Service, giving glory to God and His Saints, and thanking the Creator for the support in the new church edification.

    Metropolitan Vladimir congratulated the parish rector archpriest Vadim and his wife Ruxanda, wishing them Divine support and guidance in the administration of the parish.

    Liturgical responses during the service were provided by the choir “Gnosis” directed by Sergiu Crudu.
