Monday, 8 November 2021, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and all Moldova visited the parish of Holy Great-Martyr Demetrius in Botanica sector, Chisinau, to celebrate the Divine Liturgy in the middle of parishioners on their Patron Feast.
The Liturgical community included archpriest Pavel Borsevschi, Parish Rector, archpriest Nicolae Florinschi, rector of St. George church in Chisinau, and numerous other priests and deacons.
During the Small Entrance of the Liturgy, archpriest Pavel Borsevschi received a high church distinction – the Seond Degree Order of St. Gavriil Banulescu-Bodoni, in sigh of high appreciation of the pastoral and missionary work and input to the proliferation of Orthodox Church of Moldova.
Clergymen and sponsors of the parish received church distinctions.
For 17 years a Sunday School for children and youth is working in the parish, offering catechism lessons and choral activities. The parish’s social centre “Agapis” provides social services to those in need.
The parish has a vast library, including a corner of rare books.
