On the Second Sunday after Pentecost and the Feast of the Nativity of the Holy Prophet and Baptist John, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, the First Hierarch of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Stavropegial Monastery of the Nativity of the Lord in Zăbriceni, Edinet.
The Metropolitan was joined by Most Reverend Fr. Damian (Burlacu), the abbot of the monastery and the servants of the monastery.
Today’s divine service was attended by many faithful Christians arrived from various places to raise prayers with the Abbot and the monastic community.
The Divine Liturgy was enriched by the ordination of Teodosie (Gurulea), a 2009 graduate of the Theological Seminary of Zăbriceni, to the dignity of hierodeacon at the monastery.
In his closing message, the Abbot, Archimandrite Damian thanked the Primate for his visit, the Liturgy, and the fatherly care he has for the Holy Monastery, offering him as a gift an icon of Our Lady of Neamț.
His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir thanked the abbot and the monastic community for the warm welcome and full of brotherly love, appreciating the work that is being done here both spiritually and materially , and also thanked the Christians present in large numbers for the prayers and care that each of them has for this monastic hearth that not only by its architecture, but also by intimate spiritual atmosphere, bears strong similarity to that of the Holy Mount Athos.
