On the Eve of the Theophany, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir celebrated the Matins Service and the Great Hours, followed by the Divine Liturgy of St. Basil the Great at the Nativity of the Lord Cathedral in Chisinau.
According to the Tipicon, on the Eve of the Theophany, the Divine Liturgy is united with the Vespers service.
His Eminence Vladimir was assisted at the service by His Great Ioan, Bishop of Soroca and Vicar of the Metropolis of Moldova, and Mitred Archpriest Vadim Cheibas, the metropolitan secretary, as well as by the priests and deacons of the Metropolitan Cathedral.
The church-goers prayed along with the Archpastor and the clergy, for the Lord to bless and help them in this important day before such a special event – Baptismal of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
After the Liturgy the Metropolitan blessed the waters, performing the service of Great Aghiasma. Numerous Christians participated in the event, who then took from the blessed water, to preserve it in their homes during the entire year.
