  • Divine Service in the Metropolitan Cathedral on the 6th Sunday after Pentecost

19 July 2020, the Sixth Sunday after Pentecost: Metropolitan Vladimir celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Nativity of the Lord Cathedral in Chisinau.

The service was officiated in open air in the Cathedral Square, in the presence of numerous church-goers who arrived to share the liturgical prayers with the metropolitan and Cathedral clergy. The community prayed for the peace in the entire world and for the mercy of God in today’s difficult circumstances of fight with disease and suffering.

The Sunday Gospel Reading referred to the healing of the paralytic man in Capernaum, showing a direct relation between sinful life and physical suffering. Healing the man, Lord Jesus told him to go home, for his sins were forgiven to him (Matt., 9: 2).

By this miracle, Lord Jesus Christ shows to the people that He came among us to forgive sins and grand healing. Any suffering is directly related to sinfulness, while the entire humanity, being one body, endures the consequences of sin. Each of us, as limbs of this body, may contribute to the improvement of life, through personal repentance and piety.
