8 December 2019, the 25th Sunday after Pentecost, Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and Moldova celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Nativity of the Lord Cathedral in Chisinau.
The arch-pastor was assisted at the service by archpriest Vadim Cheibas, the Cathedral Dean.
The Sunday Gospel Reading relates about the Lord’s healing of a woman who had been infirm for 18 years (Luke 13: 10-17). She had been bent over and could in no way raise herself up, is said in the Gospel as related by holy apostle Luke.
Lord Jesus Christ saw this woman on a Sabbath day and healed her. The Gospel shows how different people reacted in different manners to this miracle. Simple people rejoiced and gave glory to God for this miracle, while the rule of the synagogue was indignated because it was done on Sabbath.
Jesus showed by such acts that He is the master of the Sabbath, and that He is the beginning and the end of everything.
Communing with the Body and Blood of Christ, the church-goers left in peace the holy shrine, glorifying and thanking God for His mercy.
