Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and all Moldova celebrated the Divine Liturgy on the 31st Sunday after Pentecost – The Sunday of the Forefathers – in the Nativity of the Lord Cathedral.
The first hierarch of the Orthodox Church of Moldova was assisted at the Divine Service by archpriest Vadim Cheibas, metropolitan secretary and Cathedral Dean, and numerous priests and deacons of the holy shrine.
Father Vadim delivered a message of pastoral guidance, with the blessing of Metropolitan Vladimir, speaking to the faithful about the meaning of the Sunday’s Gospel Reading (Luke 14: 16-24). The priest explained that the parable of a certain man who gave a big supper and invited many speaks about God who invites the humanity to communion in the Heavenly Kingdom, and those who answer this call and prove worthy of it, take part in the heavenly joy, together with the saints of God.
The words of the Gospel call us to be children of the Kingdom and partakers in a life of holiness. They prepare us for the appropriate Advent of the Nativity of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
