CHRIST IS RISEN! INDEED HE IS RISEN! – this is the greeting that resounded on the Night of the Bright Resurrection in the entire Orthodox Christian world. The service of the Resurrection was celebrated in the Nativity of the Lord Cathedral in Chisinau by His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, assisted by Cathedral Dean archpriest Vadim Cheibas and the Cathedral clergy.
Among hundreds of church-goers praying in the holy shrine and in the Cathedral square was President Igor Dodon and other state officials.
On the Feast of feasts, the Pastoral message of the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Moldova was read out, mentioning, among others:
“In these days of the Resurrection of Christ, addressing to the church-goers from within the country and from abroad, I urge you with the hymn of the feast: “Having beheld the Resurrection of Christ,
worship the Holy Lord Jesus”, to change our lives, becoming forgiving and peaceful, praying and merciful, loving and doing good acts, as for us all Christ is Risen!”
During the Divine Liturgy, some clerics of the Cathedral were awarded high church distinctions, in sign of the Archpastor’s appreciation and encouragement in their ministry.
The Gospel Readings of the Liturgy were traditionally read out in several languages.
After the Divine Service, the Metropolitan and the clergy blessed the offerings brought by the church-goers.
