His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir welcomed at the Metropolitan Residence Mr. Sergey Stepashin, Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts of the Russian Federation, and the new Russian Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, His Excellence Farid Muhametshin. Present at the event were also Mr. Serafim Urechean, Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts of the RM, and other officials.
The Hierarch made a brief overview of the history of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, and talked to the guests about new social, cultural, and spiritual projects of the Metropolis.
His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir underlined the friendly relations that have been uniting our nations for centuries, even in the most difficult moments of our history, saying that Christian values have always based this relation.
In their turn, Mr. Stepashin and Mr. Muhametshin thanked the Metropolitan for cordial hospitality and for the care of the Metropolis of Moldova for the Russian Diaspora and for all Orthodox Christians of the country.
The guests mentioned that the legendary hospitality and cordiality of Moldovan people is a decisive factor in the development of friendship relations between the Russian and the Moldovan people, ensuring prolific co-living, for our mutual social, economic, and spiritual welfare.
