On the 6th Sunday after Pentecost, 16 July 2023, with the blessing of His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chisinau and all Moldova and His Eminence Nestor, Metropolitan of Corsun and Western Europe, Bishop Ioan of Soroca officiated the Divine Liturgy in the church of Blessed Xenia of Petersburg in the city of Faro, Portugal.
The Arch-pastor was joined by Archpriest Ioan Gherbovețchi, Dean of the churches of Portugal and parish rector of the community, Archpriest Nicolae Craveț, secretary of the Vicariate of Soroca, and priest Leonid Karpin, cleric of the parish.
His Grace nence conveyed to the faithful gathered at the Sunday Liturgy the paternal greetings and arch-pastoral blessings of Metropolitan Vladimir, mentioning His Eminence’s love for this parish, which he has nurtured since 2009, when he visited it for the first time.
Thanking for the arch-pastoral greetings, Father Ioan Gherbovețchi, the parish rector, also asked for holy prayers for the community, which this year celebrates 20 years since its establishment, so that through the grace of God and the zeal of the parishioners, it may prosper in preaching the Gospel in the Diaspora.
