In the second part of Sunday, May 7, 2023, with the blessing of His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chisinau and all Moldova, His Grace Ioan of Soroca, blessed the procession with the Icon of Our Lady “Calm our sorrows”, which will have as itinerary the perimeter of Floresti district.
At the outskirts of the village of Ciripcău in the Florești district, about 50 priests from the Florești and Soroca deanery gathered, together with the district deans, Archpriest Nicolae Craveț and Archpriest Ioan Zîmbreanu. Numerous church-goers from different parishes, including Mr. Mihail Donos, mayor of Ciripcău, participated in the service singing the Acathist to the Mother of God, and then received the blessing to participate in six-day procession with prayers and church chants, covering about 190 km around the district of Floresti.
Each day the priests and accompanying faithful will participate in Holy Liturgy and other church services.
Responsible for the procession is the priest Valeriu Bumbac, rector of the church “The Protection of the Mother of God” in the village of Vertiujeni, Florești district.
